August...Month of Events

Wedding Anniversary...
Jared and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary on August 3rd. Jared got me beautiful hydrangas (our wedding flower) and we ate the top of our cake. Acctually we took one bite and both thought it was gross after being in our freezer for a year. YUCK! But atleast we followed through with the tradition.

Our Wedding Day

Jared's 23rd Birthday...
We celebrated by having a few of our friends over to eat some yummy homemade chili and carrot cake cupcakes. Our little basement apartment was filled to the max with only 20 friends, which is sad, but what can you say. :)

Branch Acitivties...
A lot of our month was also filled with church activities. Because we are in a student branch school just started back, our church callings had us very envolved in welcoming new and returning students. It was a lot of fun and it made us excited about the new school year.

School...
Oh yes how can I forget...school started back which has put our brains back into working order. We enjoy being back on a regular schedule from summer, but we back to not seeing much of eachother :( But we are hoping that by next school year Jared and I will be attending the same school which will help out a lot!

Eagle Scout...
My little brother, David, had his Eagle Scout Court of Honor. I am so proud of have and so lucky to call him my brother. He is such an example to all those around him especially me. I just love him so much! Congrats Dave!

We decided NOT to follow tradition with our wedding cake. Here is what we did - we took our top tier home with us down to FL and we ate it in about a week! (We didn't get to have much at our wedding because we were soooo busy the whole time!) For our 1st anniversary we called up our bakery that made our wedding cake and ordered an undecorated version of our top tier! It was only about $10-12 and it was DELICIOUS. That way we got to enjoy it! Just something to think about for future anniversaries ;) Hope you guys are doing well!!

Very cute update for the month! Looks like you have had fun! We never got to eat our cake on our 1st anniversary because it stayed in Salt Lake with my fam and we went to Georgia!

I've often wondered if the top layer of cake really is any good after a year in the freezer. Happy Anniversary!

(and thanks for the blog shout-out!)
