Our spring break was the first week on March. Since Jared and I worked most of the week we decided to take one day off to enjoy our break...so we spent the day in Atlanta...

SUPER pumped in the car riding to Atlanta
(yes...I took this picture while Jared was driving...so safe)

First stop....King Tut Exhibit @ The Atlanta Civic Center!!

[Disclaimer: this image is NOT accurate in size comparison]

Queen Katy of Egypt!

Pharaoh Jared!
We were SOO ready for the Egyptian 3D movie
The King Tut exhibit was very good except for the fact that King Tut wasn't in attendance, they just had recovered items from his tomb, but not HIM...BIG BUMMER...
so then we were off to the next exciting thing...

Terracotta Warriors Exhibit at the High Museum
{this picture looks like we're standing next to a real terracotta warrior, but it's cardboard...looks totally real though huh?}
The Terracotta Warriors were almost better than the King Tut exhibit only because the history behind it is CRAZY cool! Next off to Ikea...
Jared had never been to Ikea so I had to take him and of course he fell in love. He thought it was so great that decorations and furniture were set-up in rooms AND that they sell $0.50 cent hot dogs! These were two of our yummy finds...

Cool frame canvas idea!

Love these daisy lights...I don't think Jared would let me put these in our room..so maybe one day in a little girls room!
Last stop Dave and Busters...

This is my "I've had a long day, I have a head ache, I want to go to sleep" smile
Jared's "I sure love Dave and Busters" smile

To make things interesting we ended our adventurous day with a double chin competition! Jared won!
[For those of you who live in Georgia...just to let you know the King Tut exhibit has $15.00 matinee prices and the High Museum is $5.00 for the whole month of March for college students...all you have to do is flash them your I.D. In other words if you have your old student I.D. and its not current you could still get in]
5 Thoughts:
King Tut, that is so cool! Danny's uncle works at the Met in New York, he's over the Egyptian dept. there so we got up close and personal... it was cool!
Lol, ya'll are crazy! This blog made me smile, especially the double chin photos :) I think John and I are going on Thursday to the High Museum so thanks for that info about students IDs.
What a fun weekend Katie!!!! Josh and I have talked about going to the King Tut exhibit for a long time now. ALSO... I LOVE the double chin photos....you guys are so silly.
PS: I've been practicing my spice girl moves...we need to make it happen.
What fun! Those exhibitions look very interesting. Thanks for letting me know you tried the cupcakes. Glad you liked them!
